Movie Poster Assignment

This is my poster for the movie poster assignment. I created a movie called StarS'mores. and created this poster using Photoshop.
First, I found the galaxy background and pasted it to a 12✖18 file. Following that, I added the first s'more image. After using the quick selection tool to crop out the S'more from its background, I created a mask by clicking the 'Japan flag' icon on the layer section of the page.
Once I created the mask, I selected the paint tool. With the black paint, I painted over the edges to make the photo more transparent.Along with the edges, I also selected the burn tool and highlighted certain areas of the s'more.

After doing this process for the other S'mores, I created 'S'moresabers'. I found images of lightsabers, and cropped them in behind the s'mores, along with some extra colouring in behind to make them seem more vibrant.

The last thing I did was input the title and actor names. I just downloaded a Star Wars font, and typed in 'StarS'mores'. I did the same thing for the actor names, but I only had to resize them to fit atop the images. Lastly, I used the credits image and sized it on the bottom of the poster.

That's how I created my movie poster.

Photography Assignment

The first image that I edited was the interrupted pattern photo.

This photo was the most representative of the composition because it was one of the cleanest background images I took, and I found that the image of her standing in the centre of the image represented the composition.

Framing

The next image composition is framing. I picked this image to represent this composition because I really liked the colours in the background, and I found that the item I used for the framing seemed to suit the background well.

Leading Lines

This is the image I chose for the leading lines composition. I liked this image because I liked the way that the foliage in the back and foregrounds almost highlighted the pathway leading to the gate. It leads your eyes easily along the path towards the gate.

Rule of thirds

Here is my composition for rule of thirds. I liked this image because it really shows you a contrast in between the dark background and the light handprint. I also think this is a good photograph for this composition is because it follows the rule of thirds well by having the focal point of the image, which is the handprint, placed more towards the top left, instead of being confined to the centre of the image.

Selective Focus

This is the selective focus image. Out of all of my images of various compositions, this one is my favourite. Not only for the fact that this technique is one of my personal favourites, but because I love the way that this image balances colours; the oranges and greens in this image are proportioned well and confined to the one side of the image to make it look less crowded.

Fill the Frame

This composition is Fill the frame, where you choose a subject for an image, and fill the lens frame with it. This image I chose represents this composition because the girl in the frame completely fills the lens frame, and also because her clothing is a good contrast to the background.

Portrait [1]

This is the first portrait I chose for the portrait composition. I like this image because I think the lighting and shadows in the photo balance the figure well, by having one side dark, and having the other side highlighted with the subject's shadow.

Portrait [2]

This is my second portrait for this composition. I chose this one because I think this is a unique take on the traditional portraiture composition, having the subject in a different position then that of a classic portrait. I also like this image because the lighting on the subject's face highlights her features well.

Photography Techniques

An Example of 'Fill the Frame'

Fill the frame is a technique that uses a certain element in the photo that is enlarged enough to fill the entire frame of the photo.

An Example of an 'Interrupting Pattern'

An Interrupting pattern is a natural pattern in photography, or an unnatural pattern in photography, that has a certain element that stands out  against the background.

An Example of 'Framing'

Framing is a technique in photography that you can use that creates a framing effect on a scene or a certain element in nature using some way of natural framing, like a curved rock in front of a waterfall.

An Example of 'Leading Lines'

Leading Lines is a technique that uses natural flowing lines to lead your eye from one point in the photograph to another.

Fast and Slow Shutter Speed Images

Fast Shutter Speed

The image above uses a shutter speed of 1/125 in order to create a smooth look throughout the image. If you'll notice with the other two photos below, the backgrounds, as well as the child in the foreground, change qualities as I play around with the shutter speeds.

Medium Shutter Speed

The medium shutter speed image uses a 1/20 shutter speed, creating a mildly blurry photo with the slight effect of movement. In some situations, this effect can look aesthetically pleasing to the eye, in other or most situations, this effect can look unprofessional and can result in a poor-looking photo.

Slow Shutter Speed

This slow shutter speed image uses a 1/13 shutter speed and makes the image look very much in motion. This effect can look good in certain photos where you would want that feeling of movement, like wanting to show the movement in a moving car. The execution of this effect can be difficult, and requires you to be very careful with how much blur you use.

Examples

Here are some examples of fast shutter speed images.

Below are some examples of slow shutter speed images.

Emo

This is just an emo graphic I did a couple days ago. I just wanted to save this here so I could get it on my other devices without having to use a USB. I might later, but, meh. OKay, Buh-bye.

Final Logos

The following images are the final samples of logos for "Literary Baby Printing Co.", formerly known as "The Literary Baby Child Printing Co."

 Rough Designs

 Rough Combined

For the basic outline of my logo, I decided to use a cat, because I find they represent my Company by being small and investigative. This relates to my company because when I am requested to do a printing job, I always look into the company and print their business cards the way their company should be represented. Thus we are investigative.
We are small like kittens because we are a small company. But like any kitten, we are growing into a big and successful...Cat.

 Rough Typographies

My company, Literary Baby Printing Co., is a printing company that works in the printing and editing of business flyers, business cards, lawn-signs, and much more! Experienced in the latest project-printing technology, we at Literary Baby Printing Co. print out professional-looking design prints that the customers design themselves, in-(metaphorical)-store.

My company appeals to small businesses, as my own, who have a similar ambitions in the business world. Those ambitions being having a successful career, and to help people with their companies.

Final Logos, B&W, Full colour

While creating a logo on Illustrator, I ran into a few minor setbacks. While creating a full colour, semi-realism-based cat, I had trouble with finding certain colours around the face to use in specific areas of the drawing. I tried to figure out which colours would look best out of the many colours I could use from the pixels making up the base photo of the cat. I overcame this obstacle in the design process by using the most representable colours for the fur or eyes of the cat.

When it came to the logo itself, aside from the original image, I had a huge problem with choosing a colour, as you may have read in my last post. I eventually compared my chosen colours, and gave up completely with all of them. I then created a new scheme of colours, and for a while had a 'dark cream' colour, almost a gold hue.

After some deliberation and final product sketches, I decided to use a lavender colour, as seen in the image above. I chose this colour because I found it represented my company's calm, but strong personality. The colour lavender is calming, and so I want people to be care-free and calm when they create their own design prints.

I learned through this project, and through the design process, how different colours trigger different emotions in people. I also learned the significance of object-placement in a logo. As it turns out, balance affects how people look at your logo or design, and can affect if they want to do business with your company. Now that I think about this, it seemed obvious that the placement of certain objects would affect everything.

Overall, this was a fun project, and I enjoyed creating a logo.

Opinions Needed!

I am currently creating a logo, and have decided on a basic outline for The Literary Baby Child Printing Co.'s logo.

But... I am divided on which colour. I have created examples of considerable colours, and need the people's opinions on which one I should use as the 'Official' Literary Baby Printing Co logo colour.

Here they are...

Write in the comments which one you think should represent the company. If you have any other logo colours to suggest, please also leave it in the comments!

Thank you! ( . _ . ; )

Vectors vs. Rasters

The difference between Vectors and Rasters...

Vectors: Vectors are basically clean, dynamic lines. You would typically use vectors in graphic designs like logos or posters, where you need more organized, less graded looking lines to make the entire picture look cleaner.
Some advantages of vector images are the cleanliness and precision of the lines. They can also be resized easily without changing the picture quality. Vectors can also be converted easily to rasters to give the images more depth.

Rasters: Rasters are lines that look more graded. Raster images are made up of microscopic pixels that give each image its faded colours. You would use these types of lines for more realistic drawings and artwork. These lines can be used to easily to fade colours and give pictures depth.
A few advantages of rasters are for editing images, giving them a continuous deep colour tone. Rasters are also good for complex images, and it gives them a more detailed look, making them look more realistic.

That is the difference between rasters and vectors, along with some examples and advantages.

Selected Photography (Assignment)

I chose the traits 'literary, small, and investigative', because I like to use intriguing words, I am small but I am productive,  <(>o< ), and I will always look into my projects to get a deeper insight on my clients and their passions.
My business is 'The Literary Baby Child Printing Co.', and I am in the business of printing professional-looking flyers for a variety of clients from small businesses to  block-party advertisements.

These are Cats!

That is all.

Comprehensive Line Art

Dynamic

For the Line in Design assignment, I created a mildly-trippy box-design.
I chose this design because I liked the shading best, and I liked how if you look at it a certain way, it confuses your mind. (o.O )

Steady

This is the design I decided to use out of the three I made. I liked it best because I liked the way the lines compliment each other...In other words, it's nice and uniform.
I also liked it because the lines compliment each other with their thicknesses and lengths.

That is my Line in Design assignment.
Thank You! ( 'o` ),

Curie Drawings

Bonjourno!

Hi, folks.
So, I've decided to share a bit of my artwork on my blog...Presuming that was the overall idea of a blog from the start. I'll be sharing my works any chance I get to sync my magical devices.

'The Curies'
Played Fallout 4? Found Vault 81? Then you must have found Curie, the adorable Miss Nanny found in the Vault's sub-level with that French accent. Well, I thought the character was so chibi that I drew her...Twice, actually; Her Miss Nanny self and her Synth variation as well.

Hope you guys like my drawings (^-^ )

Aboriginal Art Showcase

~Aboriginal Art Showcase~

After researching dozens of Indigenous and Inuit artists, I had to make a decision on which one I liked the most.
As I scrutinized the many works of art I had spent hours pinning, I narrowed my decision down to three of them, and finally chose this...

This piece is called The Wisdom of the Universe, and was created by an Indigenous artist named  Christi Belcourt in 2014. The picture above is actually a cropped version of the full painting, I found out just today.

When you see this painting, you firstly notice the dove, and your eyes wander further to notice the numerous plants and trees, almost beyond counting. (Almost)
The artist uses many curved lines and actually uses a painting technique that makes it look like the piece was crafted out of beads.

I think the artist was trying to remind everyone how large and infinite the universe is, and how something so seemingly small like a dove can be represented as something as infinite as wisdom.

Out of the many I had found, this one was...I wouldn't say the most generic, but the most modern, and to me one of the most beautiful pieces.
I had found some really cute ones too, such as a polar bear sculpture and many pictures of animal interpretations. This one does technically fall under that category, but this one is one of the most original interpretations I found.
I kind of like how the artist made her painting so crowded that it portrays the message of an 'infinite universe'.

So that is my art critique. Hope you enjoyed reading (^_<)

Actual...Introduction.

Ello!

This is Baby Child. Um.. I am actually not entirely  sure if I'm doing this entry in the correct manner or format, but, uh...Yeah.

So, welcome to my blog.

Here, I will post art-stuff that will be entirely featured, and mostly original!

I would like to hurry with this and create a format...I currently have no entire clue as to what I am currently doing.

Well, G'bye then.
